Beyond the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre lies a city of bohemian enclaves, medieval sanctuaries, and even an underground world lined with the bones of millions. How did centuries of Parisians transform the City of Light into the endlessly layered metropolis we know today? It’s time to uncover the French capital as you’ve never seen it before.

Join New York Adventure Club for a captivating five-part series through the extraordinary architecture, fascinating history, world-class art, and distinctive neighborhoods that have shaped Paris throughout the centuries. In Part Five: Catacombs & Hidden Paris, we'll uncover some of the city's more mysterious and unexpected corners, from haunting reminders of its past to remarkable spaces dedicated to modern art and architecture.

Led by Spain-based tour guide Kelsey Betzelberger, our unique experience featuring plenty of first-hand photo and video walkthroughs, intriguing anecdotes, and expert insights will include:

• An exploration of Père Lachaise and Montparnasse cemeteries, where winding pathways lead past elaborate tombs, monumental sculptures, and the final resting places of celebrated artists, writers, musicians, and other fascinating figures from French history
• A descent beneath the streets into the Paris Catacombs, a haunting labyrinth of former limestone quarries where the bones of millions of Parisians were carefully arranged after overflowing cemeteries created a public health crisis in the late 18th century
• A visit to the intimate Musée Zadkine, the former home and studio of sculptor Ossip Zadkine, where expressive works are displayed throughout light-filled rooms and a leafy garden that feels worlds away from the surrounding city
• An examination of the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Frank Gehry's extraordinary glass-and-steel landmark in the Bois de Boulogne, whose billowing forms resemble enormous sails and house an ever-changing collection of modern and contemporary art
• A grand finale at the Grand Palais and Musée de l'Orangerie, from the monumental Beaux-Arts façade and soaring glass-and-steel roof of one of Paris' great exhibition halls to Claude Monet's monumental Water Lilies, displayed across curved walls in rooms designed to surround visitors with his tranquil garden landscapes
